White Dwarf 77 - Uncatalogued Minataur, Magic Mushrooms and Pregnant Brownies

There have been a few miniatures that have been uncatalogued over the years but have been known to exist by collectors and in some cases they are relatively common. One of these is the Minataur (sic) which has been assumed to belong to the C38 Beastmen range.

Whether the misspelling of Minotaur was intentional or not is unknown. The miniature has not been found in any catalogues to date however reviewing Tabletop Heroes by Joe Dever in White Dwarf I was surprised to see it making an appearance.

Appears as a shadow.


As the images are there only as photography examples no details are given about the miniature itself unfortunately.

One of the main things you notice when reading through White Dwarf 77 is the attitude following the announcement that White Dwarf would be produced, from issue 78, in Nottingham. This was an unpopular decision with the production team that was based in London, so much so that there was a (now legendary) hidden message in the contents list. 

First letter of each of sub-heading spells out the message.

Guide to Identifying Miniatures

How to identify miniatures. As with anything it all depends on whether you want to put the effort in yourself or you want to put minimal effort in. This guide has three main sections, the first section will cover the basics, the second section will cover the way with least amount of effort on your part. The third section is if you prefer searching for yourself, particularly if you think you have worn out the good will of the community by putting in too many ID requests 😉. The Basics Whichever way you decide to do it take a photo or the front, back and base/tab. This will help you when asking others to help identify and for future reference save you having to get the miniature out every time.
