First Post and Useful Sites
To be honest I’m not really a blogger so posts here may be infrequent. However necessity or rather the requirement to have something somewhere that can cover the elements of my interests that aren’t appropriate for the Lost Minis Wiki pages but are related.
First and foremost is the Lost Minis Wiki (LMW) which is what started this. If you don’t know about it put simply it is an impossible task of recording every fantasy and science fiction miniature produced. Its scope has expanded slightly into historical due to the overlap. I was a user of LMW long before becoming a contributor. The history is covered here.
I thought I would use this first post to post the main links and highlight useful sources of information:
Lost Minis Wiki
Without the support of manufacturers and online contributors (ebay sellers, hobbyists) allowing us to use their images we wouldn’t be at 130,000ish images.
Collector Groups and Reference Sites
- Asgard Collectors Group (Facebook)
- Collecting Citadel Miniatures (CCM)
- Metal Magic Miniature Maniacs (Facebook)
- Myth and Magic Collectors (Facebook)
- Stuff of Legends (SoL)
- Stunties (everything Dwarf related)
- Plastic Soldier Review
Blogs
The following is not an exhaustive list but covers a few blogs that have been useful in developing the wiki, have contributed images or may be of interest:
Dear Tony Blair - Dozing Dragons blog covering a wide range of manufacturers, their ranges and their history.
Realm of Chaos 80’s - Oldhammer blog by Orlygg covering the golden era of Citadel.
Eldritch Epistles - Steve Casey’s blog on Citadel Miniatures from the 80’s.
Awesome Lies - Oldhammer blog covering a lot of unreleased publications and the history of Warhammer.
Eastern Garrison - Rob’s blog covering ranges of miniatures from Admins to Warmans.
Fimm McCool - Geoff Solomon Sims miniature blog covering Fimir, Combat Cards, Oakbound, etc.
Podcasts and YouTube Channels
Jordan Sorcery - interviews, reviews, etc.
There are many more which I will add as and when I remember them.
Re my blog the Eastern Garrison, worth noting it covers a lot more than Garrison stuff - especially of interest on Old School being a lot on Minifigs 'S' Range and PB Range Ancients.
